#1509 - Student Engagement Platform
For project status update:
We are pleased to report that the new Nazareth College mobile app, which was rolled out to students in time for the start of the Fall semester, has been accessed by roughly 1,843 users. The app provides easy access to many of the tools that students need daily – everything from class schedules and registration to computer lab schedules and dining hall menus. The ability to promote student-centric events and to target specific student groups is a new and exciting feature that was added this term. Each student can set individual preferences thereby achieving a personalized view, displaying only the events that are relevant to that student.
Of the 1,843 users, over half have set their own preferences, letting us know the type of events that are most interesting. To date, almost 650 events have been promoted to students through the mobile app. Using the app, students can hide or highlight events and express an intent to attend. The ITS team is also rolling out a process for tracking attendance at events. Event planners can choose to have a poll for event attendees.
The final component of the Nazareth College mobile app is a dashboard, delivered through Informer that analyzes student interest in, opinion of and attendance at events. Administrators can look at projected event attendance vs actual event attendance by student type (e.g. Freshman / Senior, etc). Events can be analyzed by preference and by poll result. These metrics can then shape future event planning and promotion.
Update: Phase I of this project is now complete
